What
does Leisure mean?
To Khmers, leisure means many things.
Two ways of describing Leisure for Khmers would
be to enjoy or like doing something. To describe
this in Khmer, we say kar sabbay or kar chaul chetr
Another way of describing leisure translates as
free time to do what you want to do.
To say this, we say: Pel Tum-ner samrab twer a’vei
del nak chong
Leisure means many things to many people. To these
children, it means playing during the lunchtime
break at the construction site over the river on
the Chroy Chang Var Peninsular.
