We have
heard many stories about people's ignorance and
laughed at their innocence and so forth. Some of
us may even have had the good fortune to encounter
sidesplitting situations ourselves. Perhaps none
can beat this one that was overheard at an Internet
cafe recently.
"Two brothers had a lifelong dream to immigrate
to America. They worked hard and saved their money.
After many years, they saved enough money and finally
immigrate to New York.
Before they began building their new lives in America,
they decided to see some of the famous places they
dreamed of for so long, the Statue of Liberty, the
Empire State Building, the Rosettes, and others.
Eventually, they made their way to Coney Island.
As they strolled down the beach, taking in all the

newness of America,
they saw a very large billboard that read: "HOT DOGS,"
with a big arrow pointing down to a little hot dog stand.
Being hungry and seeing that having an American hot dog
would be something new, they decided to try one. They
ordered two hot dogs and sat on a nearby bench to enjoy
another piece of Americana.
The first brother sat his hot dog in his lap and unfolded
the paper wrapper. He looked at his hot dog for a moment,
and suddenly wrapped it back up. He then turned to his
brother and said, 'What part of the dog did you get?'"
Some things simply cannot be judged by looks. The hotdog
has its characteristic look that resembles the anatomy
of the animal from which its name was drafted. Given the
name, well, how can one fault an innocent mind.
According to the dictionary:
Hot dog
1. A frankfurter (sausage).
2. A sandwich consisting of a frankfurter on a split roll,
usually eaten with mustard, sauerkraut, or relish.
3. Also a hot dog", hot dogger--Informal.
a. A person who performs complex, showy, and sometimes
dangerous maneuvers, esp. in surfing or skiing.
b. A show-off, esp. in sports. |
